CYCLORAMA

CEI recently completed a one of a kind audio visual solution for the Atlanta History Center’s Cyclorama exhibit. The Cyclorama is a cylindrical panoramic painting of the Battle of Atlanta with a foreground diorama that was painstakingly restored and relocated from its former location at Grant Park to its new specially built home at the Atlanta History Center.

CEI was hired by Jackson McQuigg, VP of properties for The Atlanta History Center and head of the Cyclorama project, to design and build the A/V and control system. Our solution consists of a seamless 160 degree video image that is provided by five edge blended and warped projectors that display directly on the surface of the Cyclorama painting itself.

The video system is augmented by a 16.1 channel surround sound performance grade audio system. The touchscreen based control system provides the capability to control all A/V and lighting functions.

This system is used for a presentation that covers the history of Cyclorama over time and it truly has to be experienced in person to capture the immensity. When in Atlanta make sure you take the time to check it out!
